New Fabrics

After a couple of days off I am really looking forward to going to the shop and playing with the new fabrics that have arrived during the week.  Thank goodness we moved when we did.  After our disappointment late in May, when only 5 bolts arrived from our Peace on Earth by 3 Sisters order, it’s finally here as well as Peter Rabbit  and a small country range.

I had a birthday last week and look what I found in a bric a brac store near my mum's house.  A yellow rose Nestle tin to match my pink one

and then I just couldn't resist this Octagonal sewing basket made from plastic covered wrapping paper.  I think these were popular in the 60's 70's if anyone knows the history I'd love to hear from you.

To top it off my DH gave me a gorgeous bunch of red roses. Bye for now

Time to relax......

well not quite.  We have had a whirlwind month with our shop move and then we hosted our first “Getting Ready for Christmas” on the weekend.  I will create an album for Lesley and I to download our photos as soon as I can, in the meantime Gail and Natalie have already posted some photos on their blogs for you to see. We didn’t get a chance to photograph the Saturday girls who did Leesa’s Christmas Tree Wallhanging,  hopefully we will get photos of them in the near future. Here are the Sunday girls well on the way to completing their trees.

Getting Ready for Christmas 050

Yesterday, Rosalie dropped in with her new BOM “It’s a Redwork Christmas” We have been watching this project with much anticipation and as you may have guessed we love all things Christmas.  The stitchery blocks come as a transfer as well as a line drawing which means you can be ready for stitching in minutes.  We already have patterns in stock and are working on kitting up the blocks now.  It's a Redwork Christmas 002

Sorry the photo is a bit skewed.  My photography skills are a bit woeful, it's very much a hit and miss affair. Well that's all for now, back soon Sandra and Lesley

Snowman Country

SNOWMAN COUNTRY Today I was determined to go for a long walk around Emerald Lake, first time in 4 weeks, it was great to feel some fresh air and my Kimba enjoyed it too.  Although the trees are bare now, in Autumn it's a glorious riot of colour.  I am very lucky to have something so beautiful nearby.  It really put me in the mood to finally get to my sewing machine and finish off my quilt "Snowman Country" (the top anyway) for my class.  Anne Sutton of Bunny Hill Designs always comes up with something whimsical and appealing.  Also I almost finished a pinwheel quilt from a Thimbleberries pattern.  This has been on the go since we opened the shop.  One border to go.  It's a great feeling to finish projects.  At one stage I was trying to finish one project before starting another, you know the story.  Next on my list is a Santa for a class later on.  In the meantime we have plenty of work to do for our Getting Ready For Christmas Workshop weekend.

Happy Quilting

Lesley

Ps I was hoping to upload a photo of the Snowman Quilt, but something is not working,,it wasn't the computer it was me!!!

We're settling in....

but ther is still lots to do. After her successful book launch at Glen Harrow, Rosalie dropped in her samples from her new book Gift.  It was great to have the room to be able to go and set up a little display with the minimum of fuss.

Gift 011 We have plenty of Rosalie's book in stock and we can do mail order.  Cost is $36.95AUD plus postage. I will set up an album when I get a spare minute.  I'm off to the shop early to wait for the Telstra technician.  Fingers crossed we will finally get our second phone line and another thing crossed off our list. Bye for now Sandra

We're In

I have tried to post this morning and am having all sorts of problems.  I don't know if it's our computer or typepad and now I have run out of time.   I had tried to post photos this morning and I think that's caused the hiccup so here are a couple.  I will post more over the weekend.  In the meantime if you are a local you may like to drop in for a cuppa and nibbles today for our shop warming between 10.00am and 3.00pm.  Ciao Sandra and Lesley
